England beat India in 2nd ODI to level series 1-1
England defeated India in the 2nd ODI by 86 runs on the back of a solid hundred by Joe Root. India were bundled out for 236 chasing a target of 323 from 50 overs.
England finished on 322/7 from 50 overs with Joe Root top scoring with 113 runs for his side. Root smashed 8 fours and a six in his innings of 116 balls. He was well supported by the English skipper Eoin Morgan who completed his half century. Morgan scored a 51 ball 53 with 4 fours and a six. David Willey provided the late flourish as he remained unbeaten on 50 runs off just 31 balls with 5 fours and a six.
India in reply were allout for 236 runs as the hosts registered a comprehensive victory by 86 runs.In form man Rohit Sharma could score only 15 runs while Shikhar Dhawan scored 36 runs. The duo added 49 runs for the first wicket. India then slumped to 60/3 as Rohit, Shikhar and KL Rahul got out in quick succession. Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina added 80 runs for fourth wicket before Virat fell to Moeen Ali for 45 runs. Adil Rashid got the wicket of Suresh Raina for 46 as India never looked like chasing the target down.
