Kohli, Iyer guide India to a series win against West Indies
Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer led the way with the bat for India as they beat West Indies by 6 wickets in the third match of the ongoing ODI series. With this win, India have won the series 2-0. First match was cancelled due to rain while India won the second match by 59 runs.
Chris Gayle smashed 72 runs off 41 balls including 8 fours and 5 sixes in most probably last match of his career before getting caught by Kohli off Khaleel Ahmed. Other opener Evin Lewis scored 29 ball 43 with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Nicolas Pooran scored 30, Shimron Hetmyer made 25 while Shai Hope contributed 24 runs for the West Indies. Khaleel Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for India as he finished with the figures of 3-68 from 7 overs. Mohammad Shami picked up 2 wickets while Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja shared a wicket each.
India in reply lost Rohit Sharma for 10 runs while Shikhar Dhawan made a run a ball 36. Rishabh Pant once again disappointed as he was out in the very first ball he faced. Virat Kohli along with Shreyas Iyer added 120 runs for fourth wicket. Skipper Kohli completed his 43rd One Day International hundred and remained unbeaten on 114 runs from 99 balls which included 14 fours. Shreyas Iyer blasted 65 runs from 41 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. Kedar Jadhav remained unbeaten on 19 runs. Fabien Allen picked up 2 wickets while Kemar Roach bagged 1 wicket to his name.
