Kuldeep and Rahul guide India to a comfortable win
India elected to field first after winning the toss. Jason Roy and Jos Butler added 50 runs for the first wicket. Butler was the top scorer for England with 46 ball 69 at the top of the order while Roy was out for 30 runs. The only other batsman to cross double digit was David Willey(29). Man of the Match Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India as he finished with the figures of 5-24 from his 4 overs.Kuldeep became the first chinaman bowler to take a five-for in shortest format.
India in reply chased down the target without any hiccups with KL Rahul smashing an unbeaten century. Rahul remained unbeaten on 101 from 54 balls with 5 sixes and 10 fours. Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs while skipper Virat Kohli was notout on 20 runs.It was the Indian captain, who finished the match with a six off Moeen Ali.
“My first tour in England, things are going very well. Perfect conditions. It felt like home conditions. The wicket was dry, good to bat on. When I bowled my first over, I felt like it would turn. It’s important if you’re bowling the wrong’un, it should be in the perfect area. We’ve got two legends (Virat and MS) and they’re very supportive.” - said Kuldeep Yadav after the match.
