Samson's ton in vain as Warner-Bairstow guide Sunrisers to victory

Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down a target of 199 runs as they defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets in the ongoing VIVI Indian Premier League (IPL). This is Rajasthan’s second consecutive loss while this is the first win for Hyderabad.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Rajasthan put on a good show with the bat. Despite losing Jos Butler early, skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson added 119 runs for second wicket. Sanju Samson smashed unbeaten 102 runs off 54 balls which included 10 fours and 4 sixes. Rahane made a 49 ball 70 as Rajasthan finished on 198/2 from 20 Overs.

Shabaz Nadeem and Rashid Khan shared a wicket each for Hyderabad.

Hyderabad in reply made an ideal start with David Warner and JohhnJ Bairstow as the duo added 110 runs for first wicket. Warner was the first ro be diamidism after he smashed 69 runs off 37 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Bairstow made a brisk 28 ball 45.

Vijay Shankar continued his good form with bat as he blasted 35 runs from just 15 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. Hyderabad chased doed the target of 199 without any hiccups with an over to spare and & wixkwic in hand.
