Australia win series 3-2, India lose 5th ODI by 35 runs
Australia defeated India by 35 runs in the fifth ODI at Delhi to win the 5 match series 3-2. Despite losing first two matches in the series, Australia made an unbelievable comeback in the series by winning three consecutive matches.
Yet another century for Usman Khawaja and a well compiled half century from Peter Handscomb help Australia post 272/9 in the first innings of the 5th ODI at Delhi. Openers Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja added 76 runs for the first wickets. After Finch got out, Khawaja and Peter Handscomb added 99 runs for the second wicket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/48) was the pick of the bowlers for India.
India in reply were allot for 237 runs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 56 runs. Kedar Jadhav (44) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (46) somehow managed to revive the chase after India were struggling at 132/6 when Rohit got out. But Australian bowlers kept picking up wickets to restrict India to 237. Adam Zampa was excellent with the figures of 46/3.
