India seal series against West Indies with a 2-0 lead
India defeated West Indies by 22 runs (D/L Method) in the second match of the ongoing T20 Series. With a match left to be played, India have already sealed the series. India had registered a 4 wicket win over the Carribean side in the first match of the series.
India finished on 167/5 from their allotted 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Opener Rohit Sharma played well for his 51 ball 67 which included 6 fours and 3 sixes before he was caught by Hetmyer off Oshane Thomas. Shikhar Dhawan made 23 off 16 while skipper Virat Kohli made 28 runs with a four and a six. Rishabh Pant once again failed to live up to the expectations as he was out for 4 runs from 5 deliveries. Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 20 runs off 13 balls with 2 sixes.
Shendon Cotrell was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies as he finished with the figures of 2-25. Oshane Thomas picked up 2 wickets for 27 runs while Keemo Paul got one wicket.
West Indies in reply were once again struggling at8-2 with both openers Sunil Narine and Evin Lewis back to the pavilion. Nicholas Pooran (19) and Rovman Powell (54) added 76 runs for the third wicket before Krunal Pandya got better off both the batsmen. West Indies were in all sorts of trouble at 98/4 in the 16th over when lightning and thundershowers struck. Eventually, India won the match by 22 runs (D/L Method).
Krunal Pandya was named Man of the Match for his match winning allround performance with both bat and ball.
