Nathan Llyon stars as Australia win first test by 251 runs
Australia lead the Ashes series 1-0 after defeating England by 251 runs in the first test at Birmingham. Nathan Llyon picked up 6 wickets while Pat Cummins chipped in with 4 wickets in the last day of the match as England were bowled out for mere 146 in the second innings chasing a total of 398 runs to win.
Steve Smith was named Man of the Match for his excellent tons in both the innings. Smith made a crucial 144 in the first innings followed by 142 in the second innings.
England had resumed the last day from 13-0. With this win, Australia are leading the series 1-0 with the second test to be played at Lords from 14th of August.
